What the park is, and where
The Adani Logistics Park, Kalamassery is being developed by Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) on about 70 acres between HMT and the Government Medical College. Ground was broken in August 2025, with the Chief Minister laying the foundation stone. Adani describes about 1.3 million sq ft of integrated logistics space, an investment of over ₹600 crore and more than 1,500 jobs.
Press reports say Flipkart has taken 30 acres for its own facility. The rest is meant for e-commerce, FMCG and FMCD (consumer goods and durables), pharmaceuticals, automotive and retail logistics. Adani has also mentioned EV charging and "smart" logistics systems.
The land has a long story. According to reports, HMT sold it in 2004–05 to Blue Star Realtors, a subsidiary of HDIL, for an IT project that stalled when HDIL ran into trouble; the Adani Group bought Blue Star Realtors in December 2018. Our HMT Kalamassery guide explains how the rest of HMT’s huge land bank has been divided up.
Status in 2026 – and what that means for jobs
Through 2025–26 the park was a construction site, not a working warehouse. That matters for job-seekers: the first wave of work is on the building side – civil contractors, electricians, site supervisors, security and catering for the site. If that is you, also read month-to-month living for site engineers.
Operational jobs – pickers, packers, forklift operators, inventory and dispatch staff, supervisors, drivers and loaders – come when tenants move in. Adani has not published a firm opening date that we could find, so treat any "joining next month" promise from an agent with care and confirm with the employer directly.
We could not confirm an opening date or a full tenant list beyond Flipkart. Check current news before you relocate for a specific role.
Living around warehouse shifts
Large logistics sites in India usually run in shifts, often including nights, because inbound trucks and outbound delivery runs do not follow office hours. Before you take a room, think about three things:
- The walk or ride at 5 a.m. or 11 p.m. The park is off the metro line. Buses thin out late, so most shift workers end up on a two-wheeler, a colleague’s bike or an auto. See living with a two-wheeler in Kalamassery.
- Sleep in daytime. A twin-sharing room with one roommate is easier to sleep in than a crowded dorm. Ask whether a roommate on the same shift is possible.
- Food at odd hours. If the PG has a kitchen, you can cook on your days off; for shift days, our list of places to eat near NAD Road and HMT Junction helps.
