What and where the Adani Logistics Park Kalamassery is
The Adani Logistics Park, Kalamassery — also searched as ‘Adani logistics park Kochi’, ‘Adani Kalamassery’ or ‘Adani port area Kalamassery’ — is a multi-tenant warehousing and logistics campus being developed by Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ). Press reports place the 70-acre site between the HMT factory and the Government Medical College, on land that HMT sold off in the 2000s. It is in the same north-eastern pocket of Kalamassery as KINFRA, NUALS and the Medical College, off NH 544 and close to the Seaport–Airport Road.
The project is aimed at e-commerce, FMCG and consumer durables, pharmaceuticals, automotive and retail logistics. Adani has promised EV charging, digital tracking and ‘zero-touch’ processes from gate entry to invoicing.
The site’s long back-story
The land tells the story of Kalamassery’s industrial change. HMT, the public-sector machine-tool maker, acquired a large tract here in the 1960s. Onmanorama reports that of about 100 acres HMT retained after a 2000 notification, 70 acres were sold to private developers, 3 acres went to the NIA, and 27 acres remain — the same 27 acres now proposed for the Judicial City. Our HMT Kalamassery guide covers the factory’s history.

Size, money and tenants
- Area: over 70 acres.
- Built space: about 1.3 million sq ft of integrated logistics infrastructure (Adani).
- Investment: over ₹600 crore at groundbreaking; ₹500 crore was the figure announced in January 2025.
- Flipkart: reported to be among the first occupiers; a January 2025 report described a 5.5 lakh sq ft Flipkart facility, and other reports say Flipkart has taken 30 of the 70 acres. Adani’s own groundbreaking release does not name Flipkart.
- Other tenants: not announced publicly as far as we could find.
Figures change between announcements. Treat the numbers above as reported claims, not final specifications, and check current news before making decisions.
Jobs: what kind, and when
Adani speaks of over 1,500 jobs; a January 2025 report credited the Flipkart facility alone with 1,000 direct and 3,000 indirect jobs. Those numbers mostly describe the park once it is running. Roughly, work comes in two waves:
| Phase | Typical roles |
|---|---|
| Construction (2025–26) | Civil and electrical contractors’ staff, site engineers and supervisors, security, canteen and housekeeping for the site |
| Operations (after tenants move in) | Pickers, packers, loaders, forklift and reach-truck operators, inventory and dispatch staff, supervisors, drivers, IT and admin |
Hiring for operations is usually done by the tenant companies and their staffing agencies, not by the park owner. Be wary of anyone who asks for money to ‘guarantee’ a job at the park. Roads and access
Trucks will reach the park from NH 544 at Kalamassery and via the Seaport–Airport Road towards Kakkanad and the port. The road’s long-missing 2.7 km HMT–NAD link was tendered in January 2026; once built, it should give the area a second route north towards the NAD side and Aluva. Workers without vehicles will rely on buses along HMT Road and the Medical College road, with Kalamassery metro as the nearest rail link. Expect heavier goods traffic on these roads once the park is working — see the Medical College Road guide and workplaces near Kalamassery for the wider picture.
Ashraf Gents Hostel and the Adani park area
Ashraf Gents Hostel is a men-only hostel/PG at Ashraf house, NAD Road, at the signal in Kalamassery, and its public profile names the ‘Adani port area’, the Medical College and the Seaport–Airport Road among places within about 3 km. For construction crews now, and warehouse staff later, that is a workable base. The indicative rate is about ₹2,000–3,000 per head per month, negotiable, with one month’s advance; call +91 90746 23855 to confirm, and mention your shift pattern so you can ask about late entry.
