Government Medical College, Ernakulam is on HMT Road in HMT Colony, North Kalamassery (PIN 683503). According to the college, the campus and hospital spread over about 60 acres. It was earlier known as the Co-operative Medical College, and map listings call the road towards it the Kinfra–Medical College Road.

Nearby landmarks include the KINFRA Hi-Tech Park, HMT, and the site of the upcoming Adani Logistics Park, which is being built on land between HMT and the medical college. NAD Road runs through the same part of Kalamassery towards the Naval Armament Depot.

The campus is not on the metro line. The nearest Kochi Metro stations are on NH 544 — Kalamassery and Cochin University — so most people combine the metro with a bus, auto or their own vehicle. Kalamassery railway station, on the Ernakulam–Aluva line, is useful for passenger and MEMU trains. For bigger trains, use Aluva or Ernakulam.
